The Dolomites Bike Day: wear correctly and enjoy the day

Bike Day training Nutrition for cyclists

Well, no, 16 hairpin bends are not enough to complete the entire loop. 16 are the hairpin bends to the Falzarego pass, 13 km of pure pleasure with spectacular panoramic points.

Getting the right bike clothing and accessories can make the difference

Beware of, and monitor, the weather forecast and the temperatures. If you want to cycle on the Dolomites comfortably, it is vital to select the appropriate gear and kit.

The route of the Dolomites Bike Day goes between 1,450 and 2,100 meters of altitude. In the mornings, the air is fresh, and during the day, changes in temperature are frequent.

Above 2,000 meters, the air can be very crisp, and we recommend wearing a windproof or top layer for the descents. It is common to have a blue sky with no clouds in the morning followed by a massive storm in the afternoon. That's why it is fundamental to be ready for any possible scenario.

On top of standard cycling kit and a top layer, don't forget arm warmers, leg warmers, and shoe covers.

Cycling event in South Tyrol

Our shared dream is only postponed

We were ready to ride, safe in the knowledge that we were going to have a wonderful day, come rain or shine. But for reasons everyone knows, it's not going to happen. Unfortunately, we must postpone the event until next year. Our shared dream, to ride at the foot of the Dolomites free from traffic, and on the climbs that have written the history of cycling, is only postponed.

We will see you next year, on 12.06.2021 to be precise. So dear cyclists, champions and amateurs, women and men, fathers, mothers and children, young and old: keep dreaming and cycle when you can. The Dolomites are here waiting for you. We hope you have a happy and safe Summer. Best wishes.
