The Dolomites Bike Day: wear correctly and enjoy the day

Bike Day training Nutrition for cyclists

"Da pera a pera", from stone to stone: this is how the locals call the last, very tough, 100 meters to reach the top of the Valparola. Constant gradient between 12% and 15%.

Getting the right bike clothing and accessories can make the difference

Beware of, and monitor, the weather forecast and the temperatures. If you want to cycle on the Dolomites comfortably, it is vital to select the appropriate gear and kit.

The route of the Dolomites Bike Day goes between 1,450 and 2,100 meters of altitude. In the mornings, the air is fresh, and during the day, changes in temperature are frequent.

Above 2,000 meters, the air can be very crisp, and we recommend wearing a windproof or top layer for the descents. It is common to have a blue sky with no clouds in the morning followed by a massive storm in the afternoon. That's why it is fundamental to be ready for any possible scenario.

On top of standard cycling kit and a top layer, don't forget arm warmers, leg warmers, and shoe covers.
